First 100 Words: Little One's Essentials

So your little one is going to learn her first words. Oh boy, you really want to be careful on what you're saying around her. Believe me, children are like super-sponges. They pick up and imitate everything around them.

Teaching her new words isn't easy. You need to make sure she understands what the words associates with. You don't want her to call Granny a cat, do you? That's why you need objects, or at least pictures to point at while saying the words.

Enter the #1 best-selling book in Children's Basic Concepts Book on Amazon: First 100 Words board book. 26 colour pages of 100 object photographs to read along your little one. It was written by Roger Priddy, writer of over 200 children books that sold over 65 million times worldwide. He is ranked #51 in Amazon top authors rank.

I like the little touches they add to the book. It is a board book, i.e. every page is a stiff board easily propped up to read. And the cover is softly padded, so it can be easily held by children.

Other than teaching your child to recognise the objects, you can also use the pictures to talk a about the objects. For example, you can ask your child how the dog sounds like. Or if you want to be more imaginative, make up your own story with those pictures!

So check the book on Amazon, and stay tuned for more reviews!
